On June 1, Puerto Rican voters will select 63 delegates to the Democratic National Convention. For those of you counting, that makes PR more delegate-rich than West Virginia (39 delegates, May 13), Kentucky (60 delegates, on May 20), or Montana and South Dakota combined (47 delegates, June 3).
Apparently, though, someone forgot to tell CNN. Go to CNN’s ElectionCenter2008 page and scroll down to the “Follow the Primaries and Caucuses” section, where there’s a calendar. Click on the “Month View” and page through to June. Oops, no contest listed on June 1.
(For the record, Guam — 9 delegates on May 3 — gets a similar diss.)
Doh!

Lorna: This is NOT about the election in November, this is about the primaries and the ability to choose along with all United States Citizens across the states and territories to choose who will be in the election in November 2008. Even though Puerto Ricans cannot vote, whomever wins in November and takes office in January affects Puerto Rico just as any other place in the rest of the United States.

Yup don’t forget the American citizens on Guam! We are America’s first line of defense if China ever start something with the U.S.
