As of Wednesday, the newly formed Facebook Group – “I Have More Foreign Policy Experience Than Sarah Palin” — had nearly 10,000 members, which I’d liked to point out is slightly larger than the population of Wasilla, where Palin ruled with an iron fist, according to a story in the New York Times today, until 20 months ago.

10,000 idiots….with nothing better to do….how fucking irrelevant.

Seems pretty relevant to me, considering that she wants to be our next vice president.
A Republican talking head just pointed out on “Race to the White House” about how Harry Truman had never traveled overseas, never knew much about foreign policy before he unexpectedly became president.
The difference, to me, is that Truman was willing to keep FDR’s team in place to see him through VJ Day and the postwar period, then bringing in qualified people, such as George Marshall, to advise and carry out a strong but sensible doctrine of standing up to the Soviets by helping countries develop and rebuild.
What has Sarah Palin’s record shown us? Her tenure as mayor of Wasilla shows a woman willing to use her office to punish people who cross her, who thinks that being in charge gives her a license to do whatever she wants. She’s Dick Cheney without the two decades of experience and connections, or Scar from the Lion King. And her brief service as governor of Alaska shows that she was willing to continue in the same mode as when she was mayor of Wasilla.
So yes, it is highly relevant.

As I said….facebook kids are largely irrelevant. Every election we always hear the bluster about the new electorate that is “energized” to vote democrat….never happens. When you look at the demographics from the past 5 elections and especially the one’s where we depended on the so called “rock the vote” demo, it was so low it hardly registered. So my point is, jumping up and down and posting about some facebook kiddie club against Palin is so irrelevant, its almost embarrassing to to discuss in a blog. I would rather see these kids get off their hail-damaged asses, wash that nasty 10-day unwashed FallOut Boy T-shirt, pop the huge pimple in the middle of their face, borrow mommy’s car, put down the Game Boy, Wii, dungeon and dragons, ask dad how to register to vote, and get off the prescription drugs just long enough to find a polling place to actually cast a vote.
So I’ll leave the cheerleading for some meaningless Facebook circlejerk to you….
As for me, I’d be making sure these idiots can and know how to actually vote…..until then….it is totally and abjectly irrelevant.

The group has now close to 100,000 members. Is this relevant “largely” enough?

Kids? I’m 25, a final year med student and I joined. My brother, 26, a senior policy advisor joined. My father, 60, a retired doctor joined.
Michael you seem to have no idea who is on facebook these days.
Jay Robinson, you made some excellent points.
