Bravo! I echo your sentiment. Had televison been around when FDR ran for the presidency, he may not have won. People didn’t have the visual of an elderly man in a wheelchair. But today, whoa! It’s like watching a rock concert half the time.

Gone are the days of MODERATORS; today we have to settle with the news anchors cum reality tv stars. It is painful to watch these folks. When media tarts and the Ben Afflecks and Oprahs of the world have a hand in getting someone elected, I wonder what this country has come to. Hell, we have to take a written test to get a driving permit, why can’t folks take a test to see if they can even spell the world “democracy”? Maybe then they can make the claim that their vote is worth something.

I have been screaming about the msm for weeks now, well maybe months. Cambell Brown is bad, but even Andrea Mitchell has become some kind of idiot. They cover the “nuts” story, they cover the foreign language story, do they cover McCain saying Social Security is a “disgrace”, do they cover McCain changing the name of the team members from the Green Bay Packers to the Pittsburg Steelers, do they cover that his recollection on his marriage has been proven to be false. Nope, good ol’ John, Rudy, and all the other nut cases get a really good free ride. It boils down to the thought that americans prefer a soap opera to hard facts and real information on whose plan is what, and weither or not they are staying true to who they are, or if they are just plain stupid or not. We are supposed to only find reality shows and soaps important so that is what they try to make this election all about. The problem is that the American people of suffered for 8 years for this type of media fiasco and the msm is prepared to do it all over again.

Nah. Phil G. said something politically stupid, but sincere and maybe even somewhat accurate.
Rudy G. went on cable TV and blasted Obama for encouraging the study of foreign languages.
Okay, Rudy. Let’s reason this out. So you would prefer that Obama (and you as president) should instead say: “America is a superior culture. Foreigners should study our language and we should not waste our time studying theirs. No American in my administration shall be forced to study a foreign language, as it is demeaning and unpatriotic.”
