Wow, it really takes you back. Dimpled chads. The Texas standard. Voter intent. The pressure — made that much grander by the last eight years. What if, what if, what if … HBO’s Recount has it all. Those who were there say it’s good entertainment if mediocre history. And the best part is that the movie relays it in a compelling, riveting, manner. The cast — Kevin Spacey and Laura Dern especially — is top-notch, with a special treat for inside-the-beltway types who know or have seen the main characters in person. Spoiler warning, though: The movie is pro-Dem.
