An Associated Press investigation of municipal water supplies around the nation has discovered that Americans are unknowingly ingesting prescription drugs each time they drink their water.
Among the substances flowing from the faucet are anti-convulsants, tranquilizers, steroids, narcotics and drugs that treat mental illness.
New Yorkers ingest carbamazepine, a mood stabilizer. Anti-anxiety medicines flow from the taps of southern California. And in San Francisco the AP found a surplus of sex hormones.
Presidents and lawmakers in Washington, D.C. ingest six separate drugs. But that is nothing to the mad dogs of Philly, where more than 60 different substances were discovered in the water. Yo!
All of which makes us think that the homeless guy outside Metro Center, who has been telling us for years that “they” put drugs in the water to make us tame, soft and compliant, is actually on to something.
